Communities / Wed 22nd Jan 2020 at 01:12pm

By Harlow Police Inspector: Tony Walker

MUCH of the Community Policing Teams work is generated as a result of information supplied to us by the local community and this can be done in a number of ways, by calling the police station, emailing the team direct or by contacting the independent charity crime stoppers anonymously via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org or calling 0800 555 111.

Often we are able to take action immediately however on occasions we need to develop the information or pass it on to another agency to deal. Over the last month and as a result of such information we have made 5 arrests 4 in the Town Centre and one in Cooks Spinney all for possession of drugs with intent to supply and one for robbery please do keep passing information to police it all contributes to making Harlow a safer place for all.

Recently there has been an increase in the theft of catalytic convertors from motor vehicles, predominately Honda’s & Toyota’s which have been targeted and in a variety of locations from the highway to vehicles parked in supermarket car parks. Please make sure that you park your car in a garage or secure lock up wherever possible, or in a well-lit area. If you are the owner of Toyota or Honda please consider speaking with your local car dealer to see what security devices may be available. As always make sure that your car alarm is activated as always if you see anyone acting suspiciously around cars please let us know.

Detectives are appealing for help after an aggravated burglary took place in Church Langley in the early hours of Thursday 16th January. A group of men broke into a house in Albert Gardens at around 2am and threatened the occupants inside with knives, the men have been described as black and in their late teens wearing dark coloured tracksuits. Money, phones and jewellery were stolen from the house. Thankfully the victims were unharmed but were very shaken. If you saw or heard anything suspicious which may help detectives please do contact Harlow CID.
