If you’re looking for a slightly different night out in Harlow, there’s plenty you can do. Lots of entertainment is available, but something is missing, as you’ll read in this article. Let’s look at what is and isn’t on offer in Harlow.

Venture into the Panic Room

Here’s a night out that you won’t forget for a while. If you love puzzles, then this is just for you. Once you enter one of their several Panic Rooms, there are 60 minutes to make your escape.

You achieve this if you and your friends can solve the puzzles. Your heart will be beating faster and faster as the time given to escape the room gets shorter and shorter. That’ll be the case in the wonderfully named Strike Force – A Race against Disaster Panic Room.

There are six different rooms that you can experience. Perhaps you’ve always been a fan of the great detective Sherlock Holmes? One of the rooms is dedicated to Holmes, and having a great time there is elementary, my dear reader.

Then there’s the CSI Mafia Murder Mystery room which is ideal for those who love the American TV series. There are some scary moments to be experienced in the Carnevil – Creepy Carnival Panic. Ideal perhaps for a great night out around Halloween.

If you manage to escape, that’s not necessarily the end of your night. You can also book a 75-minute session to enjoy yourself trying out some urban axe throwing.

As we mentioned previously, Harlow is lacking one form of entertainment. Despite the town being a good size, there is no local casino. So, residents looking to enjoy games like blackjack or learn about poker tournaments will have to travel to London, where many good casino choices exist.

It’s either that or going online to satisfy your desire to play some casino games. You can have a great time playing at an online casino, whatever the time of day. Perhaps you can have a quick game or two and win cash to pay for the next great night out on our list.

Tenpin Harlow

How many spares and strikes will you get playing tenpin bowling?  Tenpin Harlow has 14 bowling lanes, and it’s fun for all the family. But there’s lots more besides.

As well as trying to get a high score or at least not finish last, there’s everything from karaoke to pool and plenty of arcade games to try and get a win on.

You’ll enjoy the latter, and your night out can also include watching the latest sporting action on the big screens. You probably need a good rest watching sport after all that time playing tenpin bowling and pool.

Quasar

While there is no casino in Harlow, the town can be proud of its Quasar Arena. It’s the largest one in the UK where you can play laser tag games. The 5000 sq/ft arena is the place to go, with each match lasting 30 minutes. If it’s your first time playing, don’t worry; there’s a 10-20 minute briefing before battle commences.

Twenty players can participate at a time, so get on the phone and invite all your friends and family for a night out.

There are sixth-generation laser games to use and you’ll need to pay attention to avoid getting tagged. The guns are even more accurate, so be careful out there. Game modes include Supercharge, Stun, Eliminator and Energise.

A night out at the theatre

There’s some excellent entertainment at the Harlow Playhouse. You can see everyone from Diana Ross to The Beatles and Queen. OK, they’re tribute acts, but you can still enjoy some excellent music that will bring the memories flooding back.

In addition to the tribute acts that keep many theatres alive, plenty of other shows exist. This includes everything from local amateur theatre companies to ballet and family-friendly shows.

The year comes to an exciting climax with the annual pantomime. This year it’s Beauty and the Beast, but that’s not all the festive entertainment. How about booking up for the Great Christmas Cake Off?

It’s not all about seeing theatre shows, as they also host quiz nights. There are some late-night shows where you can enjoy retro nights, a slice or two of pizza and a pint. Now that’s always a brilliant way to spend an evening.
