ESSEX Police are investigating an arson in Harlow which has left a man with burns to his hands and back.

A spokesperson said: “We were called to a wooded area of Wych Elm shortly before 2.55am today (Friday 17 May).

It has been reported a fire was started in the area, causing a person within a wooden shelter to suffer injuries.

The man is currently in hospital being treated for his injuries.

It is being treated as arson and officers need to speak to anyone who may have been in the area between 1.30am and 3.30am.
