A MAN has been charged as part of an investigation into an incident in Church Langley playing fields on Saturday, 29 June. 

Officers received multiple reports shortly before 7pm of a man threatening members of the public including children with a knife.

Officers, including armed response officers arrived quickly and a man was arrested.

Leonard Saterlay, 58 of Sheldon Close, Harlow has since been charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, three counts of assault by beating and threatening a person with an offensive weapon.

He will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Monday, 1 July.
