EPPING Forest District Council (EFDC) is happy to announce that Nazeing Parish Council has been awarded funding to help refurbish the play area at Bumbles Green.
This will support the Parish Council’s programme of replacing and refurbishing the recreation spaces in the area and falls in line with EFDC’s investment in rural infrastructure.

The funding is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding from the UK Government as part of its objective to enhance and improve local green spaces.
Cllr Holly Whitbread Portfolio Holder for Finance and Economic Development said: “We are pleased to support Nazeing Parish Council with the refurbishment of Bumbles Green play area as it is an important community facility. The playground is currently damaged and in major need of refurbishment, so this funding is great news for Bumbles Green.
Cllr Peter Wagg, Vice Chairman of Nazeing Parish Council said: “Having begun a complete replacement and refurbishment programme of the recreational facilities within the parish, Nazeing Parish Council is delighted to have been awarded a substantial grant from Epping Forest District Council to assist with the cost of these necessary works.
“The playground in Pound Close was completed last year, with Elizabeth Close and Bumbles Green currently in the planning stage. Providing recreational facilities is a key responsibility of the Parish Council and we are grateful for the support given by Epping Forest District Council”.
Further funding for rural community infrastructure is also available via UK Rural England Prosperity Funding from EFDC.
Between £10,000 and £50,000 worth of capital funding can be applied for by Town and Parish Councils or community groups that fall within a designated rural area.

Most of the kids play areas in Harlow would benefit from the same sort of investment. Some are truly shambolic. The one by the Barn Mead play barn has been waiting for repair for around a year at least. The one by Primrose Field is uninspiring for small children, a big area with not much in it. Nearly all the play areas have the same sort of equipment, dull and unimaginative.
