TWO people have been taken to hospital and part of the M11 has been closed due to a serious crash.

One lane of the southbound carriageway between junction six (M25 Interchange) and junction five (Loughton), near Epping in Essex, has been closed as a result of the two-vehicle collision.

The East of England Ambulance Service was called just after 13:40 BST.

National Highways said queues were building towards junction seven and warned of disruption in the area.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Two ambulances, an ambulance officer vehicle, a rapid response vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.”
