Programme for East Herts arts showcase revealed

THE programme for Arts in East Herts, the exciting new arts showcase running across the district through September and October, has been revealed. There will be opportunities in every corner of East Herts for residents to try something new with most activities being free of charge. 

There will be something on offer virtually every day in September and October and residents can find full details on the council’s website: Arts in East Herts | East Herts District Council. The programme provides all the latest on the schedule of events as well as information on how to get involved.

The wide range of activities on offer means that there is something for everyone, whether it’s a one-off event, taster session, performance or exhibition. The programme includes:  

  • circus skills in Amwell End
  • textile art in Buntingford
  • painting in Bishop’s Stortford
  • local artists exhibiting their work in Cottered
  • decorative metal working in Green Tye
  • theatre improvisation in Hertford
  • painting and bell-ringing in Bishop’s Stortford
  • candle marking in Little Berkhamstead  
  • interactive story-telling in Sawbridgeworth
  • dancing in Ware.

Councillor Alex Daar, East Herts Executive Member for Communities, said: “This cultural extravaganza promises to inspire, educate and entertain while enabling our wonderful local artists and arts organisations to reach a wider audience. It will be a chance for people to get involved in something new, whether that’s taking part in an artistic or cultural event, workshop or taster session or simply going along to an exhibition or performance.
