Letter to Editor: Call to MP over arms sales ban to Israel

Dear Mr Vince
We are writing as your constituents to urge you to demand Prime Minister Starmer immediately implement a full ban on all arms sales to Israel.

During the past 20 months the most conservative estimates of the Gazan death and injury toll put the number of people killed by Israeli State forces at 55,000 to date, including approximately 17,500 children, and the number of child amputees resulting from Israeli military action in this time period at 3,000.
Politicians of all persuasions are now speaking publicly and with urgency of their horror at what the world is witnessing: starving Gazans massacred daily on their way to alleged aid distribution centres on roads which the IDF have declared “combat zones.”
These scenes are reminiscent of the worst horrors inflicted by humans on fellow humans in living memory. If we are unwilling to use our power to stop this this then our collective sense of basic humanity has surely begun to erode itself.
So, we ask you as our elected representative to use the most effective means at your disposal – your voice – to call on the Prime Minister without delay to impose a full ban on all arms sales to Israel.
In so doing you would be taking a very meaningful step towards ending our nation’s complicity in what an Amnesty International investigation concluded back in December 2024 is a genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians in Gaza.
Yours sincerely
