A MAN has been arrested as part of a response to reports of a person acting inappropriately in Epping.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We were alerted to the reports in High Road, at 5.20pm today, Tuesday 8 July.

Officers arrived quickly and arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault.

He remains in custody.

We know incidents such as this can clearly cause concern among the public.

Although our investigation is in its early stages, the behaviour which had been reported has now ceased and we’re not looking for anyone else at this stage.

There will be officers in the area throughout the rest of the evening who will be on hand to help you should you want to raise any concerns.

“We’d also like to thank the members of the public who made reports to us this evening, which allowed us to respond as quickly as possible”.
