ESSEX Police’s Roads Policing Team have been busy keeping our motorways safe.
On Sunday 24 August, a BMW driver was recorded weaving between traffic and driving at 91mph before being stopped and reported for speeding, careless driving and was issued a warning for anti-social driving.
On Monday, an Audi driver was stopped after weaving and speeding at 100mph. We seized the car when we found the driver was disqualified, and they were reported for driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and speeding.
Later that evening another driver was recorded one the motorway at 111mph in a Mazda, with the car seized and the driver reported for speeding and driving without insurance.
Inspector Emma Patterson said: “These stops and seizures are just a snapshot of the busy shifts my officers have had keeping our roads safe this week.
“Motorways have the same rules as any other road, and we will stop any drivers we detect breaking the law behind the wheel.”
Well done Essex Police, the motorways need to be made safer.
