Angry mob descend on Harlow Police Station after three arrested following dispersal order in Epping
Crime / Sun 31st Aug 2025 at 11:39pm
A BAYING mob of far right supporters descended on Harlow Police Station on Sunday following a series of arrests in Epping.

A police spokesperson said: “A significant number of people attended the town (Epping) with three arrests being made, including two men and one woman.”
With regards to the arrest of the woman at the Civic Centre, we’re aware of suggestions around the reason for her arrest.
The arrest is on suspicion of breaching a Section 14 order, which is in place this evening. That order set out specific areas where protest activity could take place, which did not include the Civic Centre.
Her arrest was categorically not for flying a Union Flag.
The first man in question was arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred after an emblem was reported to have been set alight. This relates to an alleged incident on Friday 29 August.
A third man was arrested for breaching the Section 14 order, after refusing to leave when the assembly had concluded.
All three remain in custody this evening (Sunday).
“We also issued a specific individual with an order under Section 42 of the Criminal Justice and Police Act 2001, which required him to leave the area immediately and not return”.
Assistant chief constable Stuart Hooper said: “We know the strength of feeling in Epping regarding a very important issue. And to reiterate what we’ve repeatedly said, we always remain impartial – this is the role of policing.
“Turning next to the arrest of a woman shortly after 7.15pm tonight. She was arrested on suspicion of breaching a Section 14 order as we sought to de-escalate a highly emotional situation.
“To be very clear, despite suggestions we’ve seen on social media, she was not arrested for flying a Union Flag on the Civic Centre.”
A dispersal order, to prevent and deal with any anti-social behaviour, and a Section 60AA order, which allows officers to request the removal of face coverings, remain in place this evening and there will continue to be a policing presence in the area.
Do people really think that mob rule is going to work?
Mob rule has already worked and is continuing to do so. Councils and politicians are making statements about flags and not housing asylum seekers in their area, capitulating to the mob. The whole issue is in the news and being kept in the news. Conspiracy theories about being arrested for flying a flag are being fed. This is what the mob and their right-wing handlers want - civil unrest. The more councils and politicians capitulate, the more the mob is empowered to escalate their actions.
This is exactly what the far-right people who are behind these protests and the raising of flags want - mob rule, civil unrest, fear, division and hatred. Certain politicians, political party's and councillors are encouraging this for their own political gain. The genie has been let out of the bottle and I fear things will escalate over coming weeks.
It won't work. Not in the long run, never has. All that will happen is more laws and crackdowns will come into place and people in the UK lose more freedoms. In the meantime I agree, we are in for a rough time of it. The governments and the press have a lot to answer for.
Idiots will believe whatever they see on social media
I believe the womens "offence" was to leave an organised peaceful protest and going about 10 feet to the left up the council steps and draped a union jack over the wall whilst still holding it, no damage was done and no person injured. The council offices were already closed and the police were on her within seconds. It was on the tv news and could have easily been dealt with by a quick and swift word but no. Arrest and in court in 4 days, impressive. Some will say she broke the rules she knew the consequences. That is till you compare to those arrested on August the 9th/10th for supporting a prescribed terrorist group whose case will now not be heard till November. You can see where the two tier system claims come from.
AJ we already have mob rule aka the UK Government
Funny that those supporting these actions never post using their real names...
If there are a few spare seats at the back on the next repatriation flight to Pakistan or India or wherever - Can we stick this lot on it and see how they fare without us paying their benefits and council housing.
Homeland Party far-right activists who were once part of far-right Patriotic Alternative. By far-right we should actually say fascists. Then we have the leader of Operation Raise the Colours, Andy Saxon, is a longtime associate of Tommy Robinson and a convicted violent criminal who was involved in the killing of a black man in Wolverhampton. Andy Saxon, aka Andrew Currien, received an 18 month prison sentence for affray: see https://hopenothate.org.uk/2013/01/28/exclusive-edl-bodyguard-in-racist-death-link/ Guardian has a recent article on Homeland Party: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/aug/23/members-of-far-right-party-organising-asylum-hotel-protests-across-uk-facebook-posts-show
Here is a very recent titled 'Operation Raise the Colours’ Organised by Well-Known Far-Right Extremists' details it's leader Andy Saxon's real name of Andrew Currien and his criminal conviction for affray that led to the racist death of a black man: https://hopenothate.org.uk/2025/08/22/operation-raise-the-colours-organised-by-well-known-far-right-extremists/
David, this attempt of guilt by association you're running. How many "protesing activists" would stop supporting Palestine due to the actions of palestine's own elected hamas government on October the 7th? The flag raising always sends lefties into a fiz if anyone shows pride in country and flag no matter or who caused it. The vast majority raising the flags are not and have never been, racist. They almost certainly will involve people who would step up to protect the country in the same way the left are unlikely to protect the country, join the armed forces or take pride in the nation. It's a divert David by yourself to distract people from the genuine concerns of people about uncontrolled immigration and people see through that divert.
It’s not guilt by association to point out when symbols, protests or rhetoric are being co-opted by groups with very different intentions. That’s just being honest about context. You say “the vast majority raising the flags are not racist.” Fair enough. But we can’t ignore that many who do use those flags at certain rallies are openly tied to far right or racist groups. Pretending that overlap doesn’t exist isn’t helpful.
