STATEMENT from Essex Police: “We remain on the scene of a serious collision between two vehicles on the A414 near Chipping Ongar. 

A full road closure remains in place, between the junctions with Stony Lane and  Penson’s Lane.

Due to the ongoing work of emergency services at the scene, this road closure will remain in place into this evening. 

We appreciate the disruption this may cause and urge drivers to plan ahead and avoid the area wherever possible.
