Storm Chandra: Floodwater advice from Essex Fire Service
News / Tue 27th Jan 2026 at 10:41am
ESSEX Fire and Rescue Service have issued the following advice following concerns over Storm Chandra.

A spokesperson said: “If you come across floodwater on the road today, don’t drive through it.
You can’t see how deep it is, the road surface may be damaged underneath, and just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle away.
Turn around, find another route, and stay safe.
“To help others avoid danger, please comment below with any flooded roads or areas you’ve seen today, including the location and direction of travel if you can. Your info could help someone get home safely”.
Also pot holes will be filled with water hiding them from view.
