Dear Editor.

Sorry to bring up the issue of flags again but at this time of England’s entry into the World Cup finals could I kindly request the lamp-post climbers to do the honourable thing and remove all the tatty flags blighting the town and replace them all with brand new ones so the true patriots can have our sense of pride back seeing that the local council refuses to do anything to alleviate our suffering at seeing such dirty ragged flags bringing our town to shame.

After all many times we’ve heard it would be too costly for the council to take them down, therefore come on you so called England till I die mob and get cracking up and down those lamp-posts once again. You’d be doing us all a great favour.
