HARLOW resident, Catherine Johnson made it to the top of Ben Nevis as part of a fund-raising challenge.

Catherine said: “Honestly, it was physically the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I’m not sure how I did it, Climbing Ben Nevis was a much bigger trek than I thought it.

“I drastically underestimated the mountain! It was 10 hours of pain, with a lot of help from some amazing guides.

“The first five hours you think “I’ve just got to get to the summit”. Then when you get there it turns to “Oh God, now I have to get back down!

“It’s not something I’d do again any time in the near future! But it was pure elation, and relief, when I stood on the summit”.
