MARK Hall Academy in Harlow, Essex was praised by the Department for Education (DfE) following their recent visit.
A representative of the Regional Schools Commissioner visited the Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) academy earlier this month and she was impressed with the many exciting developments taking place there.
It was particularly noted that leaders, staff and pupils are proud of being one of the most improved schools in Essex since becoming an ATT academy, while recognising that they still have further work to do to continue making progress.
Pupils were complimented on their improved attendance, their excellent behaviour and their desire to learn and concentrate within lessons.
Work to boost pupil achievement, particularly with literacy has also been recognised.
Teachers are being supported to develop their confidence and to achieve ambitious targets.
The visit was very positive and focused on the progress made by Mark Hall so far as well as their future improvement plans.
Principal, Corinne Franceschi, said: “We are always pleased to welcome visitors to the academy.
“I am pleased that the DfE have recognised our progress to date along with our ambitious plans for continued improvement.
“We are not yet where we want to be but we are improving steadily and we have a clear plan in place to achieve our goals.
“Thank you to ATT for their ongoing support and thank you to staff and pupils for their continued hard work and for representing the academy in such a positive way.”
