Harlow Town FC vs Canvey Island FC Match Preview
HARLOW can’t afford to dwell too much on their much needed 2-1 victory against Leatherhead on New Year’s eve and swiftly turn their attention to welcoming Canvey Island to the Harlow Arena, hoping for win number ten out of twelve on home turf and to kick starting 2017 on the right track.
The visitors arrive without a win in their last seven games, dating back to the end of November and as a result of their poor form find themselves rooted at the bottom of the table, albeit with three games in hand on Grays Athletic. They ended a year with a positive 1-1 away to AFC Sudbury, which could give them the confidence to start 2017 with a positive outlook and boost their bid for survival, however with only five wins from 24 matches and Harlow’s very strong home record, this looks like a big ask for Canvey Island.
With two games in two days for both teams, fatigue may be an issue, therefore changes could be made within both squads. Harlow could recall Khale Da Costa, whose impressive 15 minute cameo against Leatherhead proved decisive and popped up with the winning goal. For the visitors, Omarr Lawson could be pushing for his 14th start of the campaign after being left on the bench against AFC Sudbury.
