WITH the now empty The Square falling into disrepair, we asked the owners, Circle Housing, what their plans were for the building.

A Circle Housing spokesperson said: “We are cleaning up the area as a matter of urgency and will put up hoarding to secure the site.

In an area where there are almost 2,500 on the housing waiting list alone our priority is and must be to provide much needed new homes locally.

“Therefore we will be progressing our plans to build these new homes in the coming months.”
