HARLOW MP, Robert Halfon has continued to back calls for an increase in the minimum wage.
Mr Halfon said: “As many readers may have already heard, George Osborne told the BBC yesterday that he supported an above-inflation increase in the National Minimum Wage, and will be recommending this to the Low Pay Commission.
“I have been very vocal on this issue recently and have been asking the Government to increase the Minimum Wage so that it at least matched the level of inflation. I have also been pushing for a regional-top up system and cuts in National Insurance for the lowest earners”.
Mr Halfon appeared on The World Tonight with Labour MP, John Mann, to talk about the Chancellor’s announcement.
