Good news for Harlow as food supplier to move in to Tesco warehouse

THERE is good news for Harlow as a food suppliers is set to move into the former Tesco warehouse site in Harlow.
Brake Bros is to close its depots in Bishop’s Stortford and Chelmsford and transfer the operations to Flex Meadow site off Elizabeth Way.
Brake Bros supplies food to pubs, restaurants, hotels, workplaces, educational establishments and healthcare facilities.
The company said that it was going through a “business transformation process” to meet customer service needs.
A spokesman told a newspaper: “A significant part of this transformation is a move to a multi-temperature distribution network, with sufficient network capacity on a national and regional basis to support our growth plans, a large part of which we expect to come from the South East.”
The Harlow site will be altered to create a regional distribution centre. The company said the move was a “significant” investment in its distribution network.
Brakes Group employs more than 10,000 people at over 80 locations and has headquarters in Ashford, Kent.
