Robert Halfon said:

‘I would like to thank Harlow Primark for their hospitality on Friday and for the fantastic tour of the store.

They employ 156 staff locally and have experienced year on year growth since the store opened in 2006, making them crucial to employment in Harlow.

It is my pleasure to congratulate Primark as a company in the UK who are committed to paying all of their staff the Government’s new National Living Wage. This wage will come into force from next April, at £7.20 an hour, reaching £9 an hour by 2020.

They have said that ‘The Living Wage will increase our Primark wage bill but it is something we can live with.’ and have assured me that in welcoming the National Living Wage they will continue to provide value for money for customers.

I am very proud of the business that Primark has bought to Harlow and I hope to see them on the 18th September at the Harlow Jobs & Apprenticeships Fair.’
