ONE of the many great things about the Harlow parkrun is the number of friendly faces that organise the Saturday morning 5k jaunt around the town park.

One of the core team is Catherine Penketh and so it was a special occasion on Saturday morning when Catherine completed the 100th run.

Catherine is one of the members of the Harlow parkrun team that give it a very welcoming ambience. She always has a smile on her face and seems to fully embrace the ethos of parkrunning.

There was a special cake supplied by runner and local councillor Karen Clempner and generally a feeling of bonhomie and welcome.

It is no mean feat to run 100 parkruns.
