AN information event to inform the public about Essex County Council’s road improvement plans for Harlow’s Edinburgh Way and Cambridge Road Roundabout will be held on Tuesday 24 May 2016.

The improvement scheme is part of a £15 million investment in the Harlow road network, to manage congestion and support future local economic growth. Preliminary works are due to start later this year with main construction expected early 2017.

Improvements will include:

•Duelling of Edinburgh Way between Cambridge Road and River Way Roundabouts.

•Upgrading of the A414 Cambridge Road Roundabout including a dedicated left turn lane from the South to the West along the A414.

•Improving traffic signals at the East Road junction with Edinburgh Way, including new crossing points on the A414 for pedestrians and cyclists.

•Improvements to River Way Roundabout

Cllr Rodney Bass, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Infrastructure said: “We are investing a lot of money in improving roads in Harlow, which is working side by side with Harlow Enterprise Zone, to transform the town’s economy.”

Information, including maps, will be on display at the Harlow Enterprise Hub, Kao Hockham Building, Edinburgh Way, Harlow CM20 2HQ on Tuesday 24 May, between 3pm and 8pm. Officers will be in attendance to answer any questions about this scheme.
