HARLOW residents are being urged to get on their bike and enjoy a number of specialist events to mark National Bike Week next week.

Cycling events for both adults and children will be running in Essex throughout the week of Saturday, 11 June to Sunday, 19 June.

Keen cyclists are also being encouraged to try out cutting edge cycling infrastructure in the county including the London 2012 Olympic Mountain Biking Course at Hadleigh Park and the new Wivenhoe Cycle Path, linking Wivenhoe and the University of Essex.

For those wanting to get fit on the way to work, Active Essex is supporting the Cycle for Health challenge.
The two-week challenge runs from 11 – 25 June offering prizes to those who sign up online and log their cycling activity. More information is available at http://www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/activeessex/.
