Batts: Table Tennis: July report
Lifestyle / Wed 20th Jul 2016 pm31 01:04pm
THERE can be few people who have failed to notice the phenomenal interest in table tennis recently.
At BATTS we have seen new members of all ages joining us every week, and our coaching sessions and competitions have never been busier.
We have exciting plans ahead and here are some highlights to share with you. Please pass the message to others who may be interested, and get back to me if you would like any other information about BATTS or any of the events detailed below.
BATTS JUNIOR OPEN LEAGUE
This is a great competition for young players (under 15) of ANY standard. Highly flexible league basis. Matches will take place over six Sunday mornings through the season. Players can enter from any school or club and entry is on an individual basis, so you don’t need to find a team to join. For more information see our website HERE.
BATTS SUPER SERIES
With most of our tournaments over-subscribed last season we know that many players will be waiting for the announcement about our dates for 2016/7. Well here they are! Players can again expect high octane tournaments with plenty of great matches. Nobody gets knocked out at an early stage and nobody waits around too long between matches. And almost all the entry fees go into the cash prize fund. All our tournaments in the coming season will be 2 STAR. Now is the time to make a note of the dates. Further information and the entry forms for the first three tournaments are on our website HERE.
SENIOR BRITISH LEAGUE – PREMIER DIVISION
We were delighted with the brilliant performance of our top team who secured a place in the Premier Division last season. The Senior British League is the UK’s flagship competition and it has been reorganised so that we shall have seven home dates when we will be visited in turn by all the other leading clubs. This will enable us to put on an outstanding afternoon’s entertainment. The highlight, of course will be the superb class table tennis which will see our top players in battle against the opposition. But we shall also have other attractions for all the family.
You won’t want to miss the opening home match in our campaign: 2pm on Saturday 24th September.
Make a note of the date now – more information will follow.
SUMMER COACHING @ BATTS
A reminder that coaching continues throughout the summer and during August we have organised extra sessions when we can invite players who are not normally part of our coaching squads. Contact me for more information about these opportunities.
TUESDAY LADDER LEAGUE
A new competition is being planned for Tuesday evenings. This will be open to experienced/tournament players both senior and junior. Contact me to join the mailing list for more information.
