Review: An oasis of talent at Livewire Theatre

A PACKED audience was enthralled by Livewire Theatre Company’s summer production called ‘Out of the Woods”.
The story line is straight-forward. The Oasis community centre is a life line for these inner city kids. When developers make a bid to buy it with a proposal that they bulldoze it down, the kids find it hard to take.
As the drama unfolds we are able to peer into their lives, hopes, frustrations and dreams.
Despite this being a summer project, this is a thorough production. The backdrops are informative but not intrusive. The music is provided by a cracking backing band. But it is the quality of the acting that stands out. All the actors have a natural charm and enthusiasm, displaying a lot of talent.
The script crackles along with a lot of sparky lines (fish fingers and spanish stand out).
Well done to all concerned. This took place within the wonderful surroundings of Passmores Academy.
