Judo RedBishops Stortford Invitational Red Belt Rumble –18.09.2016

HARLOW Judo Club travelled to Bishops Stortford to attend an Invitational Red Belt Rumble held by Bishops Stortford Judo Club. This was a low level Beginner’s grade event aimed at novice to up and coming judokas and was open to Judo clubs in and around the Hertfordshire and Essex area.

The Club entered 9 of its young players ranging from 8 to 11 years old, and competition was of a good standard from the other clubs. The young judokas battled hard showing off their developing judo skills and through sheer determination, returned with a haul of 4 Gold medals claimed by Macey Brown (8), Kenzie Deamer (10), George Franks (9) and Sam Cobbin-Brown (8), 4 Silver medals claimed by Fleur Salhi (9), Ralfy Webb (9), Seth Horsley (9) and Fionn Healy (11) and a Bronze medal by Bertie Chamberlain (8).

Senior Coach, Mick Ellis along with Junior Team Manager, Sarah Brown, encouraged the young players who all listened well to instructions and overall, were very pleased with how well they competed. Sarah Brown said of her young charges “all the young players put their judo skills into action and through true determination, all took medals home today”.

Harlow Judo Club caters for those with special needs and has a Coach specifically in this area. Contact the Club for more details, who are based in Foldcroft, Harlow.
