Harlow Town 5 v 1 Needham Market

HARLOW Town roared back into form as they thumped five past Needham Market at the Harlow Arena.

Needham have had a cracking start to the season and you could see why as they play a fast fluid and attractive brand of football.

Harlow had a number of players back but they were giving away needless fouls early on.

It was good to see Alex Read back and he nearly scored in the 10th minute but his neat side foot hit th post and went out again.

But they made no escape in the the 12th minute when Fabian Simms threaded the ball through the area to score.

Sometimes you don’t praise great defending so let us put that right. Ibrahamima Sonko produced a wonderfully timed tackle to nip a Market attack in the bud.

Needham went very quiet and had no real answer for Harlow’s energy. Nothing was coming through midfield whilst Harlow player such as Mario Noto were looking for all sorts of angles.

And the second goal came from a strange angle as Moto sneaked in a shot from the tightest of angles in the 32nd minute.

Things got even better in the 42nd minute when Joe Benjamin marauded down the left and fired the ball home past the hapless Daniel Gay.

Just before half time, Market grabbed a goal back through

Harlow made it 4-1 in he 54th minute when Layne Eadie hammered the ball home after a mazy run into the box.

And the goals kept coming when less than a minute, Alex Read scored from close range.

Harlow had worked hard, looked committed, looked for each other and were a hungry team.

Needham’s night was complete when Reece Dobson missed a penalty in the 80th minute.

The result puts Harlow right back in the play off fight as they set off to Lowestoft on Saturday.
