HARLOW Tesco ditches receipts as people ‘don’t like putting paper in their wallets’

A supermarket in Harlow says it has become the first to ditch traditional paper receipts and replace them with digital ones on your smartphone.

Tesco says it believes more stores will follow suit soon as “digital natives just don’t like putting paper into their wallets”.

Neil McGeough, technical programme manager at the company said: “This trend will keep on growing over the next five years and wallets will become a thing of the past.

“Soon there will be receipts on your phone, loyalty cards on your phone and bank details on you phone.”
