Harlow MP Halfon objects to planning application

News / Sat 1st Apr 2017 at 03:17pm

HAVING been contacted by concerned constituents and local parish councils, Robert Halfon MP has objected to the Veolia planning application for an energy recovery facility in Hoddesdon just outside the border of his constituency.

Robert Halfon said; “The building itself would be enormous and visible both day and night and residents have worries about traffic congestion and emissions too.

“This facility will impact greatly on the Roydon and Nazeing areas of Essex but would be processing Hertfordshire waste – it should therefore be more centrally located in Hertfordshire.

“I am particularly concerned that a site which was discounted in 2015, for very good reasons, is now being put forward in this new planning application.”
