New Chief Executive appointed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust

PRINCESS Alexandra Hospital is delighted to announce that Lance McCarthy has been appointed as our new Chief Executive and will officially start his role on Wednesday 3 May 2017.

Lance joins us from Hinchingbrooke Health Care NHS Trust (HHCT) where he was CEO. He has a track record of senior management in the NHS and recently led HHCT from inadequate to good in just one CQC inspection.

Alan Burns, Chairman said: “I am delighted on behalf of the Trust to announce Lance’s appointment. I know that with Lance’s focus on improving the safety and quality of patients’ experience, we will have the best possible chance of following Hinchingbrooke’s example.”

Lance is looking forward to making PAHT an outstanding place to receive treatment and a great place to work, and said: “This is the perfect job in so many ways – the chance to be part of the development of a new hospital on a new education and social care campus is exciting.

“The chance to shape health and social care across West Essex by developing our Accountable Care Partnership is a challenge I shall relish. And finally the chance to work with a staff team who are so obviously caring and  committed to doing the best for patients will be a pleasure.”
