Robert Halfon re-selected as Parliamentary candidate
ROBERT Halfon was re-selected by Harlow Conservatives at a special meeting last night (Friday) to be their parliamentary candidate for the general election due on 8 June.
The members voted unanimously to reselect Robert as their candidate.
During his presentation to the members he referred to his love and commitment to the town where he lived, and was proud of all his achievements, both small and large, in helping to improve the town. He said he has tried to visit as many schools and businesses as possible during his time as MP, He explained today was a typical Friday spent in the constituency, speaking on politics at the college (his 60th visit since becoming a candidate in 2000), visiting a primary school and re-opening the Greyhound public house.
Robert went on to outline his campaign messages:
· Building an even better Harlow with new industry and more housing;
· Championing Apprenticeships and Education;
· Cherishing our villages;
· Cutting the cost of living including maintaining the freeze on fuel duties;
· Protecting our NHS and promoting a new hospital for Harlow;
· Brexit means Brexit – the country voted to leave the EU and we need strong and stable leadership to see us through the Brexit negotiations.
