Lib Dems

THE Harlow Liberal Democrats are appalled by The Conservatives record at county hall with the most at risk suffering as a result of damaging cuts. The Conservatives boast about policy which includes the cuts to bus services, local highways budget being halved and the dismantling of youth services.

Tony Durcan and Karen Clempner are both on the local highways committee, meanwhile our roads are in the worst state in many years proving that Labour is once again failing to be an effective opposition.

Only the Liberal Democrats can provide this opposition and we promise to improve the quality of living for the residents of Harlow through our 10 point plan.

The Harlow Liberal Democrats promise to:

Repair roads properly, not just patching up potholes for them to reappear a month or so later
Lobby government to restore cuts in school budgets and ensure every child has a school place to guarantee our children a positive future
Work with large and small businesses by investing to create sustainable jobs and keep the Harlow economy growing
Stop cuts to Library opening hours so that everybody has access to this vital community resource
Stop Recycling Centre closures and end restrictions on home DIY waste
Campaign for Community Policing to be fully restored to keep the residents of Harlow safe
Protect concessionary fares for pensioners so that the most vulnerable members of society have the opportunity to be active
Cut waste and bureaucracy at County Hall to make sure that your taxes are spent directly on services for you
Slash the use of expensive consultants to fund services that the current county council continue to cut
Improve youth provision to look after the future of our town

Vote Liberal Democrat in the upcoming county council elections for a open, tolerant, united and well-funded town.
