HARLOW Gymnastics Club hosted an International Friendly team competition on 29th April 2017. Seventeen gymnasts and their coaches from Prinsenbeek, the Netherlands, visited Harlow for a week of training and cultural visits.

The partnership between the clubs was established last year, with the aim of supporting and inspiring gymnasts by increasing opportunities to develop talent and facilitate top-level success. Previously, squad HGC gymnasts undertook a similar trip to the Netherlands to train and compete.

The Samensprong club visitors trained with Harlow Squad gymnasts at Harlow Gymnastics club and Swallows Gymnastic club based in South Woodham Ferrers. They also had an opportunity to visit London for the sights and shopping. The week culminated in a team competition, with teams comprising an amalgamation of gymnasts from Samensprong and HGC. The 10 teams undertook a full competition schedule competition on floor, vault, beam and asymmetric bars.

Head Girls Coach and club co-owner Gordon Mitchell said, “We look forward to continuing to work with Samensprong in the years to come with more exchange visits for training and competitions between the gyms.”
