GE17: Campaigning suspended as politicians mourn for Manchester

HARLOW’S candidates for the General Election of 2017 have suspended campaigning until further notice in the wake of the terrorist attack in Manchester.

Robert Halfon said: “Every thought with family and friends of victims of Manchester after this horrific tragedy.

“Harlow and Great Britain united against terrorism.”

Labour candidate Phil Waite said: “Harlow Labour Party will suspend campaigning today due to the terrible events in Manchester last night. Our thoughts are with Manchester.”

Harlow Council leader, cllr Jon Clempner said: “My thoughts with the people of my home town Manchester. With the victims, their friends and family, the Emergency Services, and the community. Sad, sad day. We will not be cowed by those who seek to destroy democracy, freedom, and tolerance.
