FIRE Crews were called to a house fire in Cooks Spinney, Harlow, in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 1 June).

On arrival firefighters were unsure as to whether anyone was trapped in the building, so quickly gained entry through the locked door and searched the smoke logged house.

Once firefighters had established that no one was inside they began tackling the fire, which was in the roof.

Firefighters worked from both inside and outside the building to extinguish the fire by 4am.

An investigation will take place today to determine the cause of the fire.
