THE Harvey Centre in Harlow is set to host a day of fun for ‘One Great Day’ from 11am – 4pm on Saturday 17th June – with all proceeds going to charity.

One Great Day is a nationwide event, in which shopping centres across the country hold charity events to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital, as well as a number of local children’s charities. Since the event was first established in 2014, over £250,000 has been raised for 93 charities from Folkestone to Aberdeen and almost everywhere in between.

This year The Harvey Centre is putting on a series of events for the whole family to enjoy – all the centre asks is that you make a charitable donation for every activity you enjoy. Between 11.00am – 1.45pm there will be a jungle themed craft workshop with a sweet cart, jungle mask making and jungle tattoos. From 11am – 12pm, The Harvey Centre’s tenants and staff will be taking part in a sponsored leg wax run by Simply Brows and Beauty. From 2.00-3.00pm TOWIE’s stunning and glamourous Amy Childs will be in the centre to meet shoppers and take photographs – this is a dream opportunity for any TOWIE fans! Amy will also meet a local little girl called Ava Rose Poole, who is currently being treated at Great Ormond Street Hospital, to hear her amazing story.

Spurs has kindly donated a football signed by all team players, which the public can win by making a raffle donation. Shoppers can make their donations to the Spurs mascot, Lily, and the lucky winner will be announced on the day. Chirpy will also be in the centre from 3.00pm – 4.00pm to take part in a penalty shoot-out with customers. In addition, mini manicures and glitter tattoos will be available at Glam Princess Parties.
Further attractions include a Peter Pan themed craft workshop, goodie bags, face painting, tombola, voucher balloon pop, lucky dip, roaming characters and buzzer giveaway game.

The Harvey Centre’s tenants will also be doing their bit for the charitable cause with a sponsored non-uniform / fancy dress day and staffroom cake and coffee sales. Furthermore, Wash Shop and Go will donate 10% of the day’s sales, BB’s Coffee and Muffins will give away muffins between 3.00 – 4.00pm for donations and Creams Café will be running a Creams Create Your Own Dessert competition and donating the profits from all dessert sales on the day. Reksio is set to host their very own Polish BBQ at West Gate, with profits going to charity. Finally Phoenix Resources will be hosting a pub style quiz from 6.30pm – 8.30pm, during which retailer teams will quiz it out against each other. Debbie Agnes-Blake, owner of Legends, will also be donating all of her individual takings for the day.

Amy Childs, TV star, Model and Fashion Designer says, “I’m so thrilled to be involved with this very special event. Great Ormond Street Hospital provides incredible support for poorly children and it’s an honour to attend this event at The Harvey centre and meet the Towie fans and the gorgeous Ava, who is currently being treated at the hospital. I hope as many people as possible come down on the 17th June, enjoy the amazing events on offer and give as much as they can!”

Bryan Young, Centre Manager at The Harvey Centre says, “We’re delighted to be taking part in One Great Day. The event provides the perfect opportunity to support the wonderful work of Great Ormond Street, which undoubtedly supports many families in our community, with a day of fun activities for everyone to enjoy. We really hope our shoppers dig deep to enjoy all of these amazing activities and attractions we have arranged for the day.”
