CITIZENS Advice Harlow has launched an exciting new volunteering project for individuals that want to enhance their CV whilst gaining real life work experience.

Citizens Ad

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to help make a difference to other people’s lives and who are able to offer between 6 and 8 hours per week. We have various roles available and within the 6 week programme we will train you and give you the skills to advise and support clients yourself.

It can be part of a gap-year plan, getting work experience, or even trying out a new arena. During the programme you will be given training and hands on experience, seeing real clients with real life problems. This could be anything from domestic violence, problems with benefits, cyber bullying – you never know what’s coming through the door next!

Jamie, now 22years and working as a paralegal in a local law firm believes that the time he spent volunteering at Citizens Advice Harlow made all the difference. “Citizens Advice Harlow gave me the opportunity to help people through some really difficult situations whilst learning things like interviewing skills, how to work as part of a team and on my own. I think this experience really made my CV stand out when I applied for jobs.”
