Investigation launched into industrial incident at Tanys Dell flats

AN investigation by the Health and Safety Executive has been launched into the circumstances surrounding an industrial incident in Tanys Dell in Harlow.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning. The workmen was airlifted to hospital in London.
Councillor Mark Wilkinson, Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: “My thoughts go out to the injured worker and with all those affected by this serious incident.
“Work has been taking place at the Council-owned flat block to replace the district heating system. The incident, which occurred on the site, was reported to us by the contractor on Tuesday morning. The contractor has reported it to the Health & Safety Executive.
“A full incident report is being prepared and this will be shared with the Council. All work stopped on site while the contractor carried out an investigation and work restarted this morning.”
YH understands that the injured workman worked for Lorne Stewart. A spokesperson for the company said: “We cannot make any comment as this matter is under investigation.”
