THE Herts and Essex Community Farm, based in Foldcroft Harlow, are pleased to announce they have been awarded £1,000 from the Calor Gas Rural Community Fund.

The prize money will go towards the refurbishment and upgrade of the community project’s BBQ area. This upgrade will mean the farm can provide a larger range of BBQ foods at their community events from a clean and functional new BBQ area.

Calor Gas Announced the winners live on their Facebook Page on Wednesday, July 12th.

Volunteer Pauline Black said, “We would like to thank the Calor Gas judges for seeing the value in our project and everyone who voted for us in the competition.”

“This money means we can enhance our food service capabilities at the farm for all our future events, including this year’s Farmfest.”

Farmfest, the project’s annual festival on the site, is due to take place on Saturday, August 12th.

The event will feature stalls and entertainment for all the family as well as fresh food and live music.
