Wanted man charged after arrest in Churchfields

POLICE have charged a man following an incident where two people were assaulted and a dog was attacked in Thornwood.
Dean Pitts, 23, of no fixed address, Epping, is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, July 24) charged with four assaults, causing fear or provocation of violence, threats to commit criminal damage, causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and bike theft
Officers received reports that a woman, 29, and a man, 38, were assaulted in High Road in the early hours of Thursday, July 20. The suspect then threatened three people at the scene and also threatened to cause criminal damage. A dog was also beaten and taken to a vet for treatment. It was put down due to the severity of its injuries.
The suspect was also wanted in connection with the theft of two bikes and assaulting their teenage owners in Harlow on Tuesday, July 18.
The man was arrested a man in Churchfields, Harlow, at around 1am yesterday (Sunday, July 23).
