Woman arrested in Harlow to face court over perjury charge

A WOMAN has been arrested in Harlow after failing to appear in court over a series of charges including one count of perjury.

Michelle Clare Stavers was arrested on Monday July 24th, 2017 and attended court soon after.

Stavers, aged 35, of Sally Murray Close, London faces the following charges:

On 11/06/2014 at Basildon, having been lawfully sworn as a witness in a judicial proceeding, wilfully made a statement material in that proceeding which you knew to be false or did not believe to be true
Contrary to Section 1(1) of the Perjury Act 1911.

On 22/03/2016 at Harlow, with intent to pervert the course of public justice, did an act, namely knowingly instructed Essex Police you were insured on a motor vehicle when you were not, which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice

On 05/10/2015 and 22/03/2016 at Harlow, made an article, namely an email intending it to be used to commit, knowing that it was designed or adapted for use in the course of or in connection with fraud.

On 01/03/2016 at Harlow in the county of Essex, with intent to pervert the course of public justice, did an act, namely deferred the fines court hearing on false grounds, which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice
