PASSMORES Academy’s Principal, Vic Goddard, has been receiving unprecedented thanks from the local community for his students undertaking a plethora of worthwhile activities and paying forward the respect we all hope to receive in return. Passmores Academy has an annual “Community Day” where staff and students go out into the Community and “pay back”.

The vast array of activities included gardening, painting fences, painting murels, playing bingo in local care homes, helping charities at their settings and this year also included a sponsored walk for the local charity “No Child Without” and for the “Grenfell Tower Victims”. With what can sometimes seem like a media saturation of negative stories around young people, Passmores Academy’s 900 students brightened up the days of thousands through their efforts.

Here is just some of the feedback that Passmores Academy was thrilled to receive in the last few weeks:

“We would like to say a huge thank you from everyone at Kingsmoor Academy. The group of students and staff that came to help out at our school today were amazing! They all worked so hard on our quad garden/pond area and were a huge help to everyone with setting up of our summer fayre. Can you pass on our thanks to everyone that was involved.” – Kingsmoor Academy

“Just wanted to say a really heartfelt thank you to all of the Passmores’ students who spent the day painting our playground. The end result is amazing, the children love it. Your students were impeccable, in terms of their behaviour and work ethic. Please pass on our thanks to both staff and students.” – Water Lane Primary School

“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you on behalf of all the staff at Paringdon Sports Club to Passmores Academy and your students that participated in Paringdon and Pemberley Academys’ activity day. I hope they enjoyed the day as much as we enjoyed having them with us. Please would you extend my personal gratitude for their help. We look forward to having more of your students attending activity days in the near future.” – Paringdon Sports Club

“I just wanted to say that the nine students we had today were absolutely excellent. A real credit to themselves and to Passmores. We’d be delighted to work with yourselves again in future if you have other such community days in the calendar.- St Clares Hospice

Vic Goddard was overwhelmed by the response from the Community and is looking forward to next year’s Community Day.
