Woman charged over rooftop incident in Harlow

A woman has been charged with various offences following an incident in Harlow yesterday (Thursday, July 27).

Police were called to reports for the concern for the welfare of a woman at around 2.30am.

It was reported a woman had climbed onto a roof of an address in Markwell Wood.

Negotiators were brought to the scene and managed to bring her down from the roof at 10.20am.

Charmaine Poynter, 31, of Waterhouse Moor, Harlow, has been charged with five counts of criminal damage, one count of possession of a Class A drug , one count of possession of a Class B drug, and one count of using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

She is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, July 29.

My client has been battling drink and drug addiction for many years but has now seen the error of her ways blah blah blah,200 hours community service and 6 months suspended.i dont know why but a certain Van Halen song comes to mind.
