FRIENDS AND family of Harlow Brass Band member John Gillespie are holding a special concert for him ahead of his 70th birthday celebrations.

John has played in local brass bands since he was young and so as a birthday celebration his family are holding a brass band concert at the Harlow Playhouse on Saturday January 27th at 6pm.

His daughter Catherine Penketh said: “We would like to find any brass players that have been part of Netteswell Youth Band, Netteswell Brass, Harlow Brass, Epping Band, Bishop Stortford Band, Harlow Concert Band or Harlow Salvation Army that may have been bandmates with dad over the years who would like to come and listen or come and join in!
