Snow Harlow Dec 17

The snow has stopped.

The 11am performance of the Harlow Playhouse pantomime has been cancelled. The arrival of Santa at Pets’ Corner in the town park was also a victim of the weather.

Sporting events included the Harlow Junior parkrun and the Harlow Ladies match at the Harlow Arena.

Many Harlow residents are angry with the perceived lack of gritting on the Harlow roads.

Gritting is the responsibility of Essex County Council and although they have been out during the week, they may well have underestimated the amount of snow that fell on Sunday.

THE FIRST snows of the winter have fallen in Harlow and have caused a great deal of chaos around the town and beyond.

We will keep a rolling log on any issues around the town.

Many people are claiming that their streets were not gritted last night (Saturday).

We will also let you know re school closures.

The M11 in Essex is currently closed southbound between J6 and J4 while we assist emergency services at the scene of a HGV lorry fire.

There is a signed diversion in place, following the Black Circle symbol.

Exit the M11 at J6 and take the M25 anti-clockwise to J26. Exit and take the A121 Honey Lane until the Wake Arms roundabout. Join the A104 Epping New Road to the Waterworks Interchange with A406 North Circular. Head east on the A406 to the Redbridge Roundabout and re-join the M11 at J4.

Was going in to London for an 80th birthday celebration, not mine. Central Line not viable as drive to Epping Station from Harlow too dodgy. Greater Anglia website said trains were running ( at10.00am). Drove with care to Harlow town station on untreated roads! Only to find all trains cancelled. Just established that "birthday boy" is stuck on train between Harlow - London! Where are the gritters? Harlow roads are a nightmare!
