A traffic operation held at Junction 7 of the M11 in Harlow yesterday (April 26) to help to reduce those killed and seriously injured on our roads found almost 130 speeding drivers and almost 60 people driving without a seatbelt.
In total, 129 drivers were found to be speeding and were dealt with accordingly. A further 58 people were dealt with for failing to wear a seatbelt while driving.
A further 38 drivers were found to be driving while using a mobile phone; each driver received six points and a fine. Two uninsured vehicles were seized and two drivers were found to be driving without valid driving licences. A further two drivers had their driving licences immediately revoked after they failed eye sight tests.
During the operation, a 26-year-old man from Ispwich was arrested and later charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent. He is due to appear at Southend Magistrates’ Court on June 25.
Amazing. Our Politzi can drum up loads of officers to track unwary motorists, but never seem to be available for other local issues.
