Gymnastics: St Nicholas’ students triumph at Harlow competition

THE Saint Nicholas school gymnasts have taken the top spot at the Harlow Key Steps Gymnastics Competition held last Thursday.

After some strong competition from the other Harlow schools that took part, Saint Nicholas School secured success in both the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 categories and both winning teams now qualify to represent Harlow in the Essex schools competition in July which will be held at Basildon Sports Village as part of the Essex Summer Games.

It is the fourth year running that the school’s Key Stage 1 team have been victorious but it’s the first year that Saint Nicholas’ Key Stage 2 team has also secured the top spot.

All the gymnasts have worked very hard over the last few weeks and their gymnastics teachers Mrs Hill and Mrs Fitch are incredibly proud of them all.

Years 1/2 (Key Stage 1)

1st Saint Nicholas – 66.3
2nd Henry Moore – 64.7
3rd Matching Green – 64.7

Years 3/4 (Key Stage 2)

1st Saint Nicholas (1) – 112.7
2nd The Downs – 111.9
3rd Henry Moore – 111.4
4th Saint Nicholas (2) – 110.6
5th Church Langley – 108.8

Louis Tarplett from the school’s winning Key Stage 2 team also got scouted by one of the judges for his ability.
