Nicholls Field residents angry at bins not being collected

RESIDENTS in the east of Harlow were left fuming after their bins were left uncollected for weeks.
The bins were in a closed off area next to a small block of flats in Nicholls Field.
Residents told YH that the bins area was being blocked by a car and binmen told them that meant leaving the bins in a place on the side of the road that could contravene health and safety rules.
But after five weeks, the area, was becoming a health hazard with reports of rats rummaginng through the bins.
The matter was taken up by Bush Fair councillor, Ian Beckett.
Cllr Beckett said: “I find it totally unacceptable that these bins were not cleared for over a month.
“I have asked the council a number of questions to whicn I have yet to recieve a reply.
“I just wonder how much effort actually went into tracing the owner of the vehicle so it could be moved.
“The fact that I have now been left waiting a number of days for an answer may give me a clue.”
"number of days for an answer", it's been going on for five weeks. Shake a leg man, bang the drum, get Eugenie on the case, I seem to re-call that she's a dab hand at collecting rubbish.
