ESSEX Firefighters assisted at the scene of a road traffic collision on Southern Way.

One man was trapped following the incident, which involved two vehicles at just after 5pm om Monday evening.

Firefighters released the casualty by 5.50pm before leaving him in the hands of the Ambulance Service.
